Disposable Anal Hemorrhoid Ligation Device

The Disposable Anal Hemorrhoid Ligation Device, also known simply as a hemorrhoid ligation device, is a medical instrument used to treat internal hemorrhoids

The device is used to perform a minimally invasive procedure called rubber band ligation (RBL) to treat internal hemorrhoids. This procedure involves placing a rubber band around the base of the hemorrhoid, cutting off its blood supply, causing it to shrink and eventually fall off.

The disposable anal hemorrhoid ligation device typically consists of a tube-like applicator with a ligating band loaded at the distal end. The device is designed for single-use, reducing the risk of cross-contamination and eliminating the need for sterilization.

During the procedure, the physician inserts the device into the anal canal and positions it around the base of the internal hemorrhoid using an anoscope or similar instrument for visualization. The ligating band is then deployed, encircling the hemorrhoid and effectively strangulating its blood supply.

Rubber band ligation with a disposable device offers several advantages over traditional surgical methods for treating hemorrhoids, including minimal discomfort, shorter recovery time, and lower risk of complications such as bleeding and infection. It is considered a safe and effective outpatient procedure.
